BSPORT+
The B-SPORT+ project aims to promote healthy lifestyles among Persons with Disabilities (PwD) by developing mechanisms and tools to engage and activate them in regular physical activities and sports. The project focuses on creating a “Lifelong Sporting System” that starts from an early age and continues throughout life, including in professional and occupational settings. The initiative seeks to address the specific needs of PwD by developing a holistic and systemic approach, involving multiple stakeholders from various sectors, including education, health, sport, and civil society.
Objectives of the project
- Develop mechanisms to promote healthy lifestyles among PwD through regular physical activity and sports.
- Foster cooperation between various sectors, including education, health, sports, and civil society, to support PwD.
- Equip resident facilitators and multipliers with the necessary skills to promote healthy lifestyles among PwD.
- Utilize digital tools, including blockchain technology, to support and monitor the engagement of PwD in healthy lifestyles.
Expected Results and Outcomes
- A fully engaged community of practice with a collaborative web platform.
- Comprehensive research reports and guidelines on PwD lifestyle drivers and assistive technologies.
- A cohort of trained individuals equipped to promote healthy lifestyles among PwD.
- A tested and validated training program that can be adapted and implemented across various settings.
- A functional digital platform and policy lab that support the long-term engagement of PwD in healthy lifestyles.
Project Activities
- Engage and activate the targeted audiences to build a community of practice supported by an open access collaborative web platform.
- Conduct research on PwD lifestyle drivers and assistive technologies, gathering data on health indicators and interventions.
- Create and implement a training program for facilitators and multipliers to support PwD in adopting healthy lifestyles.
- Conduct pilot tests in local communities to validate the capacity building program and collaborative mechanisms.
- Establish long-term accompanying measures and tools, including a policy lab and a digital social platform, to ensure sustainability.
