Academic Entrepreneurship in Albanian Universities: Reality or Vision of the Future?
This project aims to assess the implementation of the entrepreneurial university concept in Albanian universities. It focuses on how higher education institutions engage in promoting academic entrepreneurship, their contributions to social and economic innovation, and the challenges they face in fostering an entrepreneurial culture among academic staff. The project will offer a comparative analysis between public and private universities, evaluating their performance, resources, and capacity to support entrepreneurship.

Objectives of the project
- Contribute to the scientific literature (3 articles) on the role of universities in fostering academic entrepreneurship, based on the Albanian context.
- Develop a policy paper outlining mechanisms for building entrepreneurial skills in Albanian universities.
- Promote the concept of academic entrepreneurship and the “Third Mission” to stakeholders, raising awareness and support for the entrepreneurial mission in universities.

- Expanded knowledge of academic entrepreneurship in the Albanian context through scientific publications.
- A comprehensive policy document outlining steps for improving entrepreneurship in universities.

- Critical review of literature and data collection on current academic entrepreneurship practices in Albanian universities.
- Collect quantitative data through the HEInnovate questionnaire and qualitative data via interviews with academic leaders, students, and stakeholders.
- Analyze data and compare the performance of public and private universities in entrepreneurial activities.
- Draft a policy guide for universities to support entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Organize promotional events and workshops to disseminate findings and recommendations to the academic and governmental communities.
