TechMed3D
The TechMed3D project aims to revolutionize medical and healthcare education in the Western Balkans by introducing 3D technologies into academic curricula and practical training. This includes the use of 3D modeling, simulation, and printing to enhance learning outcomes, research capacities, and healthcare innovation. Through collaboration between universities, research institutes, and technology hubs, the project will create sustainable digital infrastructure to equip students and staff with essential tech-driven healthcare skills.
Objectives of the project
- Modernize curricula by integrating 3D technologies in healthcare education programs.
- Build technical and pedagogical capacities of academic and support staff.
- Establish TechMed3D labs as innovation and training centers.
- Foster academia-industry cooperation in medical technology and health innovation.
- Promote internationalization and harmonization with EU digital healthcare trends.
Expected Results
- Revised and newly developed study programs integrating 3D healthcare technologies.
- Equipped TechMed3D laboratories in partner institutions.
- Over 80 trained academic/technical staff on 3D applications in healthcare.
- Strengthened links with the biomedical and healthtech sectors.
- A framework for long-term sustainability and regional collaboration.
Project Activities
- Needs assessment and mapping of 3D tech potential in healthcare education.
- Curriculum design and accreditation of updated programs.
- Procurement and setup of 3D labs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
- Training workshops hosted by EU partners in Croatia, the Netherlands, and Slovenia.
- Student piloting of the developed modules.
- Promotion, dissemination, and impact tracking across all six countries.
