MEDIATOR
The MEDIATOR project focuses on the development and institutionalization of mediation as both a field of academic study and a professional practice in Western Balkan higher education systems. It aims to improve curricula, train academic staff, establish mediation centers at universities, and create a regional network for collaboration and knowledge exchange. The project promotes peacebuilding, social cohesion, and access to justice through educational innovation and international partnership.
Objectives of the project
- Integrate mediation education into university curricula at bachelor’s and master’s levels.
- Develop institutional capacity through the establishment of university-based mediation centers.
- Enhance academic and administrative staff with competence in mediation theory and practice.
- Promote awareness and recognition of mediation as a peaceful conflict resolution tool.
- Foster regional and international collaboration among HEIs, mediation experts, and stakeholders.

- New or improved curricula in mediation studies.
- Functional mediation centers at partner universities.
- A trained cohort of academic and administrative personnel.
- National and regional roundtables and awareness events.
