Jonila Gabrani. PhD
Jonila Gabrani holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health (2017-2021), from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, and Basel University, Faculty of Medicine, Basel, Switzerland. Primary, she received a Master in “Leadership and organization of healthcare Institutions and health services”, Faculty of Economics and Policy, Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel", Tirana, Albania (2010-2011). She graduated from the Faculty of Economy of University of Tirana in 2006.
Jonila is currently the Head of the Centre for Scientific Research in Public Health, Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences, European University of Tirana, Albania. Her primary interests are in health service performance indicators, decentralization, diffusion of innovation, quality of care, access to public and private services, systems in transition, comparative European studies. She is an affiliated researcher at Ghent University (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Public Health, and Primary Care) in the frame of the PRICOV -19 project and a guest researcher at Robert Koch Institute, Germany, in the frame of the Western Balkan Strategic Partnership for Health Protection.
Along the past years 7 years, Jonila has a good track record in publications in health service research and successful project implementation internationally. She has served on several Editorial boards such as: International Journal of Public Health, Young Researcher Editorial (YRE) series, Journal of Healthcare Management, Gravitate Health User Advisory Group, European Patients' Forum etc.
Jonila has received the Lead Albania Fellowship (2015), from the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) and Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for International Students (2017).
Multi-sectorial teams oriented especially combining academia, public administration, and health policy.
