PhD. Marsel Omeri
Ph.D. Marsel Omeri is the Head of the Engineering Department at the European University of Tirana. He holds a PhD in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with research focused on UAS autonomy, airspace integration, system safety, and advanced control behavior.
He has academic experience in teaching Systems Thinking, Modeling & Simulation, Telecommunications in Aeronautics, and Applied Electronics, and supervising MSc. research projects. His work bridges academic research with industry practice, contributing to curriculum modernization and applied engineering education.
Previously, Marsel worked at Volocopter GmbH, contributing to the development of Advanced Air Mobility concepts and collaborating with key industry and institutional stakeholders. Through this role, he has worked with organizations such as Eurocontrol, EASA, SESAR partners, UrbanV, Bluenest, and vertiport development initiatives, focusing on airspace design, CNS operational requirements, and safety-driven systems engineering. He is also volunteers as a Safety Expert at the Advanced Air Mobility Institute (USA).
He is committed to advancing engineering education, research excellence, and innovation in emerging aviation systems in Albania and the region.
