Dr. Sofjana Veliu
Current Employment Position:Lecturer/Head of the Department of Legal Sciences at UET, at the Department of Legal Sciences, Faculty of Law, European University of Tirana, engaged as a Lecturer from 2015 to the present.
Education: Sofjana Veliu graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law at the European University of Tirana. In 2012, she completed a two-year postgraduate Scientific Master’s in Private Law and Business at the Faculty of Legal, Political Sciences, and International Relations at the European University of Tirana. Later, in 2016, she obtained her Doctor Degree in Legal Sciences at the European University of Tirana, specializing in public constitutional law, focusing on property rights.
She is a candidate for the defense of the academic title “Associate Professor” at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, with a focus on constitutional law and human rights. She has presented numerous papers at national and international scientific conferences and has published several articles in local and foreign journals. Her areas of expertise and scientific interest lie in public and constitutional law, particularly in aspects of administrative law and human rights.
Professional Experience and Public Engagements: She has participated in several significant international projects as part of the research team, such as the Re-Engage project(Re-Engaging with Neighbors in a State of War and Geopolitical Tensions), Europe Horizon, and has taken part in Erasmus projects in the Netherlands, Spain, and others. For several years, she has been involved in competition procedures organized by the Department of Public Administration, serving as a member of the Recruitment Committee in the capacity of an external expert. She has a good command of both English and Italian languages.
