Dr. Sofjana Veliu

Lecturer at the Department of Legal Sciences, Faculty of Law, European University of Tirana. She has been engaged as a full-time academic staff member since 2015 and continues in this position.

Sofjana Veliu graduated from the Faculty of Law at the European University of Tirana. In 2012, she completed a two-year postgraduate Scientific Master’s degree in Private Law and Business at the same university. In 2016, she earned the title “Doctor of Legal Sciences” from the European University of Tirana, specializing in constitutional public law with a focus on property rights. She is currently a candidate for the academic title “Associate Professor” at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, with a research focus on constitutional law and human rights. She has presented numerous papers at national and international scientific conferences and has published several articles in domestic and international journals. Her areas of expertise and scientific interest lie in public and constitutional law, particularly in administrative law and human rights.

She has participated in several significant international projects as part of research teams, such as the Re-Engage project(Re-Engaging with Neighbors in a State of War and Geopolitical Tensions), Europe Horizon, and Erasmus programs in countries like the Netherlands and Spain. For several years, she has been involved in competitive recruitment procedures organized by the Department of Public Administration, serving as a member of the Recruitment Committee in the capacity of external expert. Additionally, she has served as a Senior Expert for the Special Parliamentary Commission ““On Deepening Reforms for Good Governance, Rule of Law, and Anti-Corruption, for Albania 2030 in the EU.”She speaks well English and Italian language.
