Dokt. Erisela Marko
Erisela Marko completed her Bachelor of Arts in Radio–TV and Film Studies at the Eastern Mediterranean University (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) in 2006 and her Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies at the same university in 2009, with a thesis titled “The Effects of New Communication Technologies on Teenagers: The Case Study of Computer Games.” This research, along with another study titled “Focusing on Eye Contact: Interpersonal Communication among Students at Eastern Mediterranean University,” was published in 2011. Between 2004 and 2006, she worked as a Student Assistant in the Department of Radio–TV and Film, and from 2006 to 2009 as a Master Research Assistant in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the same university.
From 2009 to 2012, she served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Arts, Faculty of Performing Arts, Department of Film Directing. From 2010 to 2017, she worked as a director and assistant director at major Albanian television networks such as Klan, Top Channel, Digitalb, and RTSH, as well as in international film productions, including collaborations with director Joshua Marston, recipient of the “Silver Berlin Bear” and “Prize of the Ecumenical Jury – Special Mention” at the Berlin International Film Festival 2011, the “Silver Hugo” at the Chicago International Film Festival 2011, and “Special Mention” at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
Since 2017, she has been serving as an Assistant Lecturer at the European University of Tirana, in the Department of Humanities and Communication, Faculty of Humanities, Education, and Liberal Arts. She is currently completing her PhD studies and has participated in several international research projects. She is co-author of the book “From Isolation to Integration: Media Discourse on Albania’s EU Integration – Monitoring National Television Narratives and Public Perceptions”, published by UET Press, Febrary 2025.
