The Major Research Program 2025–2030 of EUT, titled “An Integrated Approach to Demographic and Technological Changes in the New Socio-Economic Context,” serves as the central pillar and guiding framework of scientific research at the European University of Tirana. It reflects the university’s commitment to addressing the dynamic interplay between evolving population structures and rapid technological advancements, both of which are profoundly reshaping societies and economies. By adopting an integrated perspective, the institution encourages multidisciplinary collaboration, linking social sciences, technology, economics, medicine, and public policy to generate holistic and socially impactful research. This approach ensures that scientific work remains relevant to current global transformations and aligned with the complex challenges faced by Albania and the broader European region.

Within this framework, lecturers and researchers are encouraged to explore how demographic trends—such as population aging, migration, and youth transition—interact with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digitalization, and automation. The aim is to understand and anticipate how these factors influence labour markets, education systems, public services, and social cohesion. This research orientation fosters innovation in addressing socio-economic development while promoting inclusive and sustainable solutions tailored to local and regional needs. Ultimately, the university positions itself as a key contributor to knowledge production that supports policymaking and societal progress in the face of ongoing demographic and technological evolution.

Within the Major Research Program, there are five Major Research Projects (MRPs) (one from each faculty), which constitute the backbone of scientific research at EUT. 2. New Challenges for Law, the State, and Democracy in Albania in the New Socio-Cultural Context.
3. Creative Innovation: A European Approach to Integration and Development in Media, Education, and the Arts.
4. Technology, Society, and Sustainable Development in the Age of Digital Transformation.
5. Health Transformations in the Era of Technological Change: Integrative Approaches to Improving Healthcare in Albania and the Region.
