STEFORA
The STEFORA project, titled “STEM for All,” is focused on increasing women’s participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, especially in Kosovo and Albania. The project addresses the barriers faced by women in these fields by promoting inclusivity, applying universal design principles, and adopting gender-sensitive approaches to education. It aims to improve institutional capacities, create digital educational resources, and foster international collaboration. By focusing on STEM and gender equality, STEFORA seeks to transform educational environments, increase enrollment, and enhance the retention of women in STEM disciplines.
Objectives of the project
- Mitigate institutional barriers to STEM education for women.
- Apply universal design principles to enhance inclusivity in education.
- Adopt norm-critical approaches to foster cultural awareness and gender-sensitive STEM education.
- Strengthen the STEM pedagogical techniques and teaching tools in participating institutions
Expected Results and Outcomes
- Increased enrollment and retention of women in STEM fields in Kosovo and Albania.
- Improved institutional STEM capacities, including pedagogical and administrative skills.
- Establishment of a collaborative STEM expert network and international engagement with organizations like EUSEA and STEM4ALL.
- Creation of digital education materials and modules focused on STEM and gender equality.
Project Activities
- Organizing workshops and training sessions to enhance STEM engagement.
- Developing educational modules focusing on digital citizenship, universal design, and norm-critical approaches.
- Promoting awareness campaigns and creating a STEM Observatory Platform for continuous dissemination of results.
