ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ACROSS DISCIPLINES: Challenges, Opportunities, and Responsible Innovation

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way societies design, produce, learn, communicate, and make decisions. Its rapid development is creating new opportunities for innovation, productivity, and sustainable development, while also raising complex technological, economic, ethical, environmental, and social challenges.

The expanding use of AI across engineering, information technology, architecture, construction, business, education, healthcare, and public services requires more than technical progress. It calls for reliable and transparent systems, appropriate governance, protection of privacy and security, new skills, and careful consideration of the effects on employment, professional practice, and social inclusion. Interdisciplinary research is therefore essential to ensure that AI-driven solutions are innovative, human-centered, responsible, and responsive to real-world needs.

This issue of Ingenious invites theoretical, empirical, and applied contributions that examine how artificial intelligence is transforming different fields, address the challenges associated with its adoption, and propose responsible and sustainable solutions.
