Abstract
In my country the continuing growth in the transmission capacity of communication networks, transmission systems with optical fibers have occupied a very important place. In this paper I will address the factors and characteristics of the transmission of signals in optical fiber line Prishtina-Skopje, the main focus will be on the causes of losses and chromatic distribution in this line. Chromatic dispersion is an evolving phenomenon, is different length delay wave and optical string length. In reality, the optical signal is not monochromatic, therefore he possesses a multitude of wavelengths and also the distribution is not a linear phenomenon and it depends on optical frequencies. Chromatic dispersion in optical communications will be considered seriously for all levels of data transfer. Negative dispersion generally does that shorter wavelengths travel more slowly than longer wavelengths. This effect can be looked at DCF (dispersion compensated fiber). This paper will be based on calculations of losses, will also be simulation backbone transmission line Pristina-Skopje. A OptiSystem Simulator will be used to analyze the Chromatic Dispersion. The analysis is done in two cases; the first case is implemented in year 2007 and the second in 2012. In the second case the losses and chromatic distribution are smaller than in the first case. We will see how Losses and chromatic distribution in total will impact on the quality of fiber optic in transmission backbone line.
