Researcher of the history of Albania, the Balkans and the Ottoman Empire. Author of the books History and Ideology: a critical approach to Ottoman studies in modern Albanian historiography (Tirana: Academy of Sciences of Albania 2007); and Ottoman Law among Albanians of the Late Middle Ages (Tirana: Center for Albanological Studies 2012).
Author of many papers and scientific articles at home and abroad on the problems of history, religions, nationalism and identity, including: “Historical roots of the Albanian Cause”, in the History of Albanians during the twentieth century vol. I, (Tirana: Academy of Albanological Studies 2018); “Islam in Albanian Lands, XV-XVII centuries”, in Religion and Culture in the Albanian-speaking Südosteuropa (Vienna: Peter Lang GmbH, Frankfurt am Main 2010); “Islam in the Balkans”, in Pour une grande histoire des Balkans des origines a 1912 (vol. III, Paris: A.I.E.S.E.E 2009); “Arnavut Milliyetçi Doctrine of the Ottoman Empire and Europe’s Algılanışı”, in OTAM, p. 33 (Ankara: Ankara University 2014). Board member of scientific journals at home and abroad. Head of courses and scientific leader in MA and Doctoral programs at the Center for Albanological Studies (2008-2016). Course title in BA programs at New York University, Tirana, 2004-2016. In the years 1991-2016 researcher at the Institute of History, at the Academy of Sciences of Albania and the Center for Albanological Studies.
From January 2017 lecturer at the European University of Tirana. Since April 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education, UET. PhD in History, Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey); MA in History, Ankara University (Ankara, Turkey); BA in History, University of Tirana.
