- International Days Erasmus + 2018 /2019
During the International Week at UET a series of activities focusing on internationalization take place, and among the most important are the Erasmus + International Days series, which took place at UET on April 24-26, 2018 and 13-17 April 2019. During these days of intensive work towards internationalization of universities, there are organized a series of activities to establish cooperation with various educational institutions in the region and beyond. This is the second consecutive year that UET has brought to Albania for the first time, one of the most popular practices in the EU, such as International Week, focusing not only on academic staff, but also on administrative and support staff.
The event was also welcomed by the Coordinator of the National Office Erasmus + for Albania, Ms. Aida Berxholi Breti. During her speech Mrs. Berxholi Breti emphasized the advantages of the Erasmus + scheme and announced that during this year’s applications there has been an increase of 10% in the success of applications from Albania, not only for mobility projects, but for capacity building projects as well.
These three days, full of cultural activities and sessions, networking and presentations brought to UET auditoriums the representatives form Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland; Tallin University of Technology, Estonia, University of Bologna, Italy; Vilniaus Kolegija, Lithuania; Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Powislanksi Kwidzyn College, University of Szczecin, Poland; Emden-Leer University, Germany, but also regional partners such as UNIVERSUM College, Kosovo and Mother Teresa University, Republic of North Macedonia.

Dr. Blerjana Bino, expert of the Joint Scientific Conference Working Group of Western Balkans / Berlin Process, explains to MAPO the results of the Trieste Summit on the scientific research and on the establishment of the Western Balkans Research Foundation.
The Western Balkans Process or as it is known – the Berlin Process – is a joint initiative of 13 European countries and the European Commission to support the efforts of the Western Balkan countries for membership and to strengthen the regional cooperation. The Berlin Process science dimension otherwise known as the Western Balkans Joint Scientific Process Conference and it takes place under the special auspices of the German Academy of Sciences – Leopoldina. The third Western Balkans Joint Scientific Process Conference took place in the French academy “Académie des sciences – Institut de France” in Paris, in order to take further the process launched in Germany in July 2015, and to continue in Austria in May 2016. Third Joint Scientific Conference statement focuses on investing on young scientists, education and innovation for jobs and growth. This statement was supported by the Heads of State at the Trieste Summit in July 2017 and its most important result is the foundation of the Western Balkans Research Foundation.
