FRONTLINE: “Empowering Albania: Embracing The Renewable Energy Revolution”
Albania boasts abundant renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, and hydropower, positioning it well for sustainable energy development. With its sunny climate and mountainous terrain, Albania has significant potential for solar and wind energy production, while its numerous rivers offer opportunities for hydropower generation. Embracing renewable energy not only enhances energy security and economic growth but also contributes to global climate goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. To fully harness this potential, Albania needs to implement supportive policies, upgrade its energy infrastructure, and foster collaboration between stakeholders. By capitalizing on its renewable energy resources, Albania can pave the way for a cleaner, greener future while reaping the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable energy development.
In such a context, this call for papers aims to promote high-quality research that focuses on Albania’s potential to develop projects that are related to renewable energy resources.
Contributions include but are not limited to:
- Solar Energy: Photovoltaic technology, concentrated solar power, solar panel efficiency improvements, solar farms, rooftop solar installations.
- Wind Energy: Onshore and offshore wind farms, wind turbine technology advancements, wind energy potential assessment, community wind projects.
- Hydropower: Small-scale and large-scale hydroelectric dams, run-of-the-river hydroelectricity, pumped-storage hydroelectricity, hydroelectric power plant efficiency improvements.
- Biomass Energy: Biomass power plants, biofuel production, anaerobic digestion, biomass feedstock sourcing, waste-to-energy projects.
- Geothermal Energy: Geothermal power plants, geothermal heating and cooling systems, enhanced geothermal systems, geothermal exploration techniques.
- Energy Storage: Battery storage technology, compressed air energy storage, thermal energy storage, hydrogen storage for renewable energy integration.
- Grid Integration: Smart grid technologies, grid modernization initiatives, grid stability with high renewable energy penetration, grid-scale energy storage solutions.
- Policy and Regulations: Renewable energy subsidies, feed-in tariffs, renewable energy targets, carbon pricing mechanisms, renewable energy certificates, net metering policies.
- Technological Innovations: Advancements in renewable energy technologies, research and development in renewable energy, breakthroughs in energy conversion efficiency.
