This process involves coordinating fiscal and monetary policies to ensure stability and growth while adhering to EU rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Key challenges include achieving economic convergence among diverse economies, managing the implications of EU fiscal rules on national budgets, and responding to economic crises within a unified economic area. The European Central Bank plays a crucial role in guiding monetary policy across the Eurozone, but the varying economic conditions across member states make this task complex.<\/p>\n<p>By examining both theoretical perspectives and empirical case studies, this call for papers aims to contribute to the development of effective macroeconomic strategies that align with the goals of EU integration while addressing the unique circumstances of individual countries. Ultimately, the objective is to foster a deeper dialogue on the future of macroeconomic policy within the EU and to identify pathways for more robust and resilient economic governance in an increasingly interconnected European landscape. We invite theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented papers that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>The impact of EU integration on fiscal and monetary policy coordination.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Challenges of macroeconomic stability in the context of EU enlargement.<\/li>\n<li>The role of the European Central Bank in managing monetary policies across diverse economies. Structural reforms and their macroeconomic implications within the EU framework. The convergence of macroeconomic indicators among EU member states. The influence of EU fiscal rules on national budgetary policies.<\/li>\n<li>Economic governance in the EU: successes, failures, and lessons learned.<\/li>\n<li>Policy responses to economic crises in the context of EU integration.<\/li>\n<li>Trade policies and their macroeconomic effects in the EU.<\/li>\n<li>The future of macroeconomic policy in an evolving European Union.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Submission:<\/strong>\u00a0To be considered for publication in this Issue, full manuscripts (max. 10,000 words) must be submitted by\u00a0<strong>15 October 2024<\/strong>.
